It’s 2014 and our popular D’Ukulele Festival is back in Chelmsford for the third time. D’Ukulele promises an afternoon of performances showcasing ukulele acts, ukulele workshops, stalls, an Open Mic, ukulele jam and much more.
The aim of the festival is to encourage people of all ages to play the ukulele. So if you are learning the ukulele or received one as a present and don’t know how to play it, then pick up your uke and come along!
The event takes place at the Cramphorn Theatre in Chelmsford on the 17 May and kicks off at 12 Noon running through to 5pm. Admission is £3 at the door.
Visit the D’Ukulele event page via our Facebook Supporters page for any updates and you can also post your questions there as well.
All performers for D’Ukulele have now been confirmed and include:
Barstools; Bishops Stortford Ukulele Society; Captain Kirk’s Mandolin; Ragtime Vintage Dolls; Uke3A; UnderFret and Yester’Ukes
Slots to perform a song at the Open Mic session cannot be pre-booked in advance of the festival so add your name to the list when you arrive.
Last seen in 2011, we are pleased to announce the return of D’UkesFest at the Queen’s Theatre, Hornchurch on the 26 July. If you like D’Ukulele put this date in your diary as well. The event runs from 12 noon to 5pm and admission is free.
This will be an afternoon of performances showcasing ukulele acts, ukulele workshop, stalls, an open mic and a mass ukulele jam. We hope the festival will widen the appeal of the ukulele so why not come along and join in!
We have a broad range of performers already confirmed, to be announced later, but there are some slots left. We would be particularly interested in acts that haven’t played at one of our festivals before to do short spots. There will be and open mic session during the festival for anyone wanting to book a slot on the day.
